Festival 50 — Trees through a child’s eyes

Growing With Science Blog

The 50th edition of the festival of the trees is live at Growing with Science Blog. Hard to believe we’ve been doing this for 50 months now! Roberta has done a great job of rounding up and organizing links and information, and I was heartened to see that people are still using Anna Botsford Comstock’s classic Handbook of Nature Study. Kids can be introduced to trees through science, art, poetry, stories — and of course through tree forts. It’s all here.

About Dave Bonta

I live in an Appalachian hollow in the Juniata watershed of central Pennsylvania, and spend a great deal of time walking in the woods. My books of poetry include FAILED STATE: HAIBUN, ICE MOUNTAIN: AN ELEGY, BREAKDOWN: BANJO POEMS, and ODES TO TOOLS.
