black birch snagGrab your walking stick: it’s time to traipse back along the trail to treeblog for the Festival of the Trees issue #56. We last visited Ash at the treeblog in 2010 for Festival 44. He never fails to deliver the finest of forested delights (for a majorly inspiring introduction to treeblog, check out Ash’s most recent post, “The Major Oak of Sherwood Forest“).

For Festival 56 Ash welcomes tree-related submissions of all persuasions. If you’re familiar with his blog you know that Ash doesn’t just sit behind his desk, pining for piñons — he’s out and about, camera in hand. Take a page out of the treeblog and follow your feet to a new forest. Don’t have a lot of time? Try squeezing in a few minutes for trees in the wee hours, gaze on the garden in a new light (perhaps in those dim, star-lit predawn hours). Do you know what trees do at midnight? Do tell (and then send us the link)!
