Festival 54: The Wonder and Magic of Trees

Silvia at Windywillow has prepared a lavishly illustrated edition of the Festival of the Trees, featuring photos from the linked posts and commentary from her animated tree-sprite alter ego. Many of the contributors really got into the spirit of the theme, with posts about unusual and charismatic trees and forests, while others pondered more specific mysteries such as fig pollination, the cause of bent and leaning trees, and how insects avoid getting trapped in amber. And don’t miss the couple who make chairs and sculptures out of living trees! Go visit.

About Dave Bonta

I'm the author of several books of poetry, including Ice Mountain: An Elegy, Breakdown: Banjo Poems, and Odes to Tools, but my real work is at my long-running literary blog Via Negativa, where I'm currently creating erasure poems from every entry of the Diary of Samuel Pepys. I'm also the editor and publisher of Moving Poems, a blog showcasing the best poetry videos on the web.
