Festival 42: seven billion new trees!

The 42nd edition of the Festival of the Trees is now live at Via Negativa. The title refers to a new initiative by Nobel laureate and tree-planting guru Wangari Maathai, and tree-planting forms the leitmotif for this month’s festival. I was gratified by the response to my somewhat pathetic pleading last month for more participation, and I hope we’re able to continue this trend in the months to come. Please remember to blog, tweet, Facebook (is that a verb yet?), or otherwise link to this new edition… and no, I’m not saying that because I want the link-juice, honest! It’s all about the trees, and reaching more people with our message of appreciation and reverence for trees and forests.

About Dave Bonta

I'm the author of several books of poetry, including Ice Mountain: An Elegy, Breakdown: Banjo Poems, and Odes to Tools, but my real work is at my long-running literary blog Via Negativa, where I'm currently creating erasure poems from every entry of the Diary of Samuel Pepys. I'm also the editor and publisher of Moving Poems, a blog showcasing the best poetry videos on the web.
